Brag Your Stylish Jeans Off

In ministry, brag about what God is doing.

What does bragging do?

1. It will excite you about what God is doing in your ministry. It can be easy to get discouraged.

2. It encourages volunteers and other people in the same circle of ministry.

3. It raises awareness about what God is doing in your ministry. We have gotten nearly all of our help because someone has heard about what is going on in the youth ministry and they want to be a part of it.

Why people don't brag...

“People will think I am bragging about me.”
You can brag about God as long as you don’t take credit for the things you know are God's doings, which is everything.

“I don’t see anything to brag about. Five of my students are pregnant and another keyed my car.”
Sometimes we feel like there is nothing going as it should. Look harder. Did one student come to youth group or small group to hear about Jesus? Brag about that one student. Did a member take the pregnant student under their wing? How awesome is that? Did a student connect with a leader and laugh? Brag about that.

“I dont know how to drop it in a conversation. ‘Jesus is doing great things in the youth ministry. How are you today?’”
This is why there are Youth Sundays. Hold a Youth Sunday service. Send out a prayer to the prayer team and put in praise reports; people love to hear about prayers coming to fruition.

Communicate wins, big or small, get into the habit of telling peoples stories or having people tell their stories.
